Title: Trouble with the Party
Tags: republican conservative
Blog Entry: The problem with the Republican party at this point in our history is that it has attempted, as the Democrats do, to appeal to all people.  This has failed miserably as the election results show.  The only way that Republicans can hope to slavage the party is to return to the core conservative roots that we were given by people like Ronald Reagan.  Being a conservative does not mean that your beliefs are in the middle of the road, if that is where they are then you are in the wrong party.  Conservative values are just that....conservative!  Smaller government, free and open markets without government intervention provides the opportunity for people to reach the limits of their abilities and prosper.  Anyone who is resourceful can take advantage of this great country but when the government gets in the way those limits are quite low.  John Kennedy, Democrat icon, would be considered a Republican at this point in our party's history.  Lower taxes, less government intervention in the free market does and always will lift up those that are in the lower tier of society.  We as conservatives need to stand up and demand that the Republican party return to it's core conservative values and not follow the middle of the road mentality that has become so much a part of the platform.
