Title: Rebuilding Conservatism
Tags:
Blog Entry: I can't believe that it has been more than a month since I have blogged here (or anywhere else for that matter). It's not that I haven't been busy with mostly behind the scene kind of stuff. I have been watching the growth of sarahpalin.org and rebuildtheparty.com with a certain detached fascination. While I am glad that conservatives/republicans are getting involved and getting active online, I am equally convinced that their current efforts are somewhat misdirected. Sarah Palin in 2012? Yes! For Governor of Alaska. For President of the United States? Not a chance! Could she win the nomination? Yes. Quite possibly and probably make Bob Dole's loss to incumbent Bill Clinton look close. It does not matter who we run as the Republican presidential candidate in 2012 so we might as well run Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee. They are going to run against a Presidential incumbent with 500 million to $1 Billion cash on hand. It will not be close. It will not be pretty. The Republican Revolution will not be televised. What is wrong with the SarahPalin.org model? It is built on the Ning software and ning is collecting all that contact information and not the founders of SarahPalin.org. What is wrong with the rebuildtheparty.com model? There 10 point plan is largely dependent on the RNC infrastructure. It is an infrastructure that has proven not to work. Here at Let's Get This Right, we are not re-inventing the wheel, we are building on what we have already put in place. Through our 50 McCain State Google groups we already have leaders in every state. We will be supporting them with political activist training independent of the GOP. Through Let's Get This Right we will provide the social/political networking that will allow conservatives to network and raise each other up. Through Let's Get This Right and ConservativeSolutions.org we will rebuild the conservative farm team for 2009, 2010, 2012 and beyond.
