I am sick of hearing all of the “green” biz words flying around the air waves these days. Our society has been sustained for thousands of years with only a few setbacks from time to time. Our petroleum economy is alive and well despite the efforts of too many misguided eco-tards and politicians. I refuse to operate on the basis that the world will end tomorrow. We're going to pay for no new refineries. My brotheri-in-law works for a large chemical company that owns a number of refineries and chemical plants on the Gulf Coast. For the first time in the plants history the plant is being abandoned , without any crew. We could lose a big chunk of our gasoline refining capacity today. The Houston area produces 30% of the fuel supplies of the US and 40% of the petrochemicals. Hurricane IKE could cost you a dollar or two in gasoline prices.You might fill up now. We have evacuated relatives from the Beaumont storm surge area and have them in Houston. We will be sheltering in place as recommended and expect to lose power tonight.
