THOUSANDS PREPARED TO DESCEND ON BOSTON FOR TAX DAY TEA PARTY BOSTON-- While there are over 300 tea parties planned around the nation for this coming tax day, April 15, one of the largest and certainly the most symbolic will be held in Boston.
Thousands of participants are anticipated to gather to hear some of the nation's leading public policy leaders address why our federal government's policies of excessive economic micromanagement, punitive taxation, and unprecedented wasteful spending are proving damaging to American freedom.
The Boston Tea Party on Tax Day will be held: Date: Wednesday April 15, 2009 Time: 11am ET to 9pm ET (speakers can be heard from noon to 2pm ET) Location: Massachusetts State House at 24 Beacon Street, Boston From noon to 2pm, the following speakers will address the Boston Tax Day Tea Party, which will be emceed by WRKO Radio host Todd Feinburg: **Jim Stergios, Executive Director, Pioneer Institute **Massachusetts State Senator Bob Hedlund (R-Weymouth) **Barry Hinckley, Fair Tax **David Tuerck, Beacon Hill Institute **Carla Howell, Center for Small Government **Chip Faulkner, Citizens for Limited Taxation **Michael Johns, national conservative leader and former White House speechwriter and Heritage Foundation policy analyst **Brad Marston, Foundation for Conservative Solutions **Sheridan Folger, Sovereignty Alliance The event, which is expected to feature prominently in national media coverage of the Tax Day Tea Parties, is open to the public and media.

TEA PARTY PARTICIPANTS  The Boston Tea Party participants list is based on research conducted by George A. Quintal, Jr., a noted Boston Tea Party historian and genealogical specialist who also serves as a historical consultant to HTA for the Boston Tea Party Museum Project. Mr. Quintal has been researching the 1773 event and the life histories of Tea Party participants since 1975. The foundation of his comprehensive research was compiled from previous lists by Thatcher (1835), Slater (1870), Drake (1885), and the Daughters of the American Revolution (1898).

Our "Federal" Government is quickly becoming a "National" Government. While their supporters are chanting their mantra of "Yes We Can", those of us who have read and understand the Constitution say "No You Can't!"

Paul Revere, Samuel and John Adams called out for liberty over 230 years ago. On July 4th, 2009 those calls will be echoed again. We will set sail from Portsmouth, Concord, Gloucester, Plymouth and unite in Boston Harbor for the New Boston Tea Party. Right where it all began.
EVERYONE CAN AND SHOULD PARTICIPATE. Regardless of what state you are in please try to make it in person to this historic event. If you can not attend in person YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT.

We will be holding a HUGE combined Tea Party in the New England Area on July 4th.
The events will begin at 8am est in Porstmouth Harbor in Porstmouth NH. (also Prescott Park in Portsmouth). There will be a rally with speakers etc. This rally will be the kick off and uniting ground for the days events. The harbor and highway will fill with boats and cars of all shapes and sizes...we will then set sail to Boston Harbor!! Fill the harbor with ships and people...have folks rally, again with speakers etc.

Dr. Marion Thorpe Launches Statewide Health Care Listening Tour
Florida’s Former Chief Medical Officer and Only Announced Republican Candidate for US Senate Launches Health Care Solutions Tour
Jacksonville, FL – As Chief Medical Officer of the State’s Agency for Health Care Administration, Dr. Marion Thorpe started a quest to force HMOs to provide patients with health promotion and disease prevention treatments. In the end, he successfully convinced the health care industry that doing so was not only necessary for patients to remain healthy, but was also good business.
His message was simple. Embracing healthy living and preventative treatments save costs on far more expensive catastrophic and emergency treatments down the road. Now he wants to offer this solution to the nation.
Having served Gov. Jeb Bush and the people of Florida as CMO and guiding member of the state of Florida’s HMO Report Card Panel and Governor’s Health Information Infrastructure Advisory Board, Dr. Thorpe is running for the United States Senate to fix what he describes as a “national disaster that will limit care for all and likely bankrupt the system.” The cornerstone of his philosophy: If we continue to wait for people to get sick before treating them, the system will soon run out of resources. He also points out that at a time when leaders in both major parties are looking for ways to eliminate wasteful spending, preventing diseases so that far fewer patients need serious long term treatment down the road is about as sensible as one can get.
Marion Thorpe is no stranger to health care reform. When Jeb Bush started the effort to bring Scripps Health Center to Florida, Dr. Thorpe championed this effort and lauded the merits of bringing bio-research and development to Florida.
Last month, as Scripps Health Center finally opened in South Florida, Thorpe was the only candidate for office anywhere in Florida to express dismay concerning current Governor Charlie Crist’s habit of “taking undeserved credit for Scripps.” Says Thorpe, “the fact that the man who brought Scripps to Florida, former Gov. Jeb Bush, was neither applauded nor honored by Gov. Crist at the ribbon cutting was a slap in the face of statesmanship that was uncalled for and that has no place in Florida politics.”
Since then, Dr. Thorpe has begun a listening tour with hospital administrators and health care providers across the State. Last week Thorpe met with medical leaders in Crestview and in Broward County. This week he’s touring Jacksonville in an effort to hammer out the most effective ways to improve health care for all without engaging in wasteful spending or limiting the quality of care.
According to Thorpe, good health care is also essential to Florida’s economy. “So much of our state is reliant on retirees and on senior visitors. One of their main concerns is that Florida can build and sustain good hospitals that provide top-quality, accessible, and affordable medical services. It’s our duty to ensure that such quality of care is maintained. Categorically, clinical excellence and fiscal solvency go hand in hand; therefore, Florida cannot escape the fact that good health care is essential to its economy.”
Dr. Thorpe says that he plans to speak with medical leaders in each of Florida’s 67 counties. He then plans to compile a policy book, something he anticipates completing before the end of the year. This policy book will serve as a comprehensive plan to revamp the health care system, a key aspect of the Thorpe campaign.

1O 4 10 TENTH AMENDMENT REMINDER!
On the 10th of every month send the following message to four of your Representatives
at different levels of government. 10 minutes of time for the 10th Amendment.
Not too much to ask.
Thomas Jefferson described the Tenth Amendment as “the foundation of the
Constitution” and added, “to take a single step beyond the boundaries thus
specially drawn … is to take possession of a boundless field of power,
no longer susceptible of any definition.” Pursuant to the Tenth Amendment, the government of the United States has
the power to regulate only matters delegated to it by the Constitution. Yet, the Constitution says nothing about saving corrupt businesses “in the event they are too big to fail.”
Nowhere does it say, government should pay for mortgages “if too many people are irresponsible.”
And nowhere in the Constitution, can it be read,
that private banks can use the American people as collateral. It is time the Federal Government did what it was told! In honor of the 10th Amendment, we Americans can send our representatives in

2ND AMENDMENT
Contact your own representative to tell him to OPPOSE the anti-Second Amendment Omnibus Land Act. The bill, S. 22, is now scheduled to be voted on this week.
S.22 is a mammoth bill comprised of over 190 separate pieces of legislation and will come to the floor with a rule that will not allow pro-gun representatives to offer amendments.
There are serious Second Amendment concerns with this legislation. S. 22 will greatly expand the amount of land controlled by the National Park Service (NPS). Because the rights of lawful gun owners are restricted on NPS land, the bill will create even more "anti-Second Amendment" zones.

Dear Representative:
I urge you to oppose S. 22. Among the many problems with this 1,294-page bill are the following concerns gun owners have:
* Section 2002 codifies the National Landscape Conservation System, which groups together 26 million acres of federal land and places it under one umbrella agency. The NLCS was created during the Clinton administration and run administratively since that time. S. 22 will make the system permanent, raising concerns for hunters and sportsmen. Much of this land is consolidated from the BLM and the Forest Service, which have always allowed hunting and recreational shooting. It is unclear what rules will be promulgated by the new agency and if gun owners' rights will be protected at all.
* Section 5204 of the bill establishes the Washington-Rochambeau Route as a Historic Trail. This dual trail begins in Rhode Island and travels 650 miles to Yorktown, Virginia. The trail includes parts of major thoroughfares on the east coast such as Interstate 95 and US Route 1, meaning the gun ban could effect hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting gun owners each day.
* Section 5301 authorizes the federal government to buy private land adjacent to national parks and trails. Such land would be controlled by the NPS, and thus be subject to the agencies' anti-gun regulations.
Since it appears that amendments will not be allowed to this bill -- thus prohibiting any attempt to remove these troubling provisions -- I would urge you to vote against S. 22.
